Hi Alex & co

I'm wondering whether the claimed T1 time (1/5000) of these Godox 'quicker' lights would really be enough for stopping water/fluid splashes.  I don't currently have the budget for the Einsteins, and the godox lights have s-type bayonet mounts so I could use them with my existing Bowens setup without the expense of buying new modifiers or adapter rings.

Cheers

Paul :)

Paul,

I can't read Chinese, but I cna tell you that 1/5000 t.1 is enough to stop most of the splahes. The question is what power level would flash produce at 1/5000?

For Einsteins, the shorter flash duration is around 1/13000, but the power level is 3Ws : meaning this is non-usable duration.

At 100Ws Einsteins have around 1/6000 sec, and this is pretty much my range: 100-200Ws with 1/3000-1/6000 t.1

Hi Alex

Thanks for the reply, and apologies for the link to the chinese site (it translates badly into English with Google Chrome).

The light hasn't been released in Europe yet, so I'm going to have to contact someone to find out more information about the T.1 duration at lower power settings. I just thought it might be of interest to some of the other Euro based folks on here, as Paul C Buff Europe prices are err…..unsurprisingly a lot higher than in the U.S  :(
