Mastering Splash to create a beauty
While preparing the Godiva liqueur shot we tried shooting with many different liquids, including water colored by fabric dye. During that particular photoshoot I was developing different techniques for splash shapes and learning how to consistenly throw them. We’ve got hundreds of different colored splashes.
Yesterday we were celebrating the launch of “MasteringSplash.com” and I bought roses for Genia Larionova. Today she had a little time (well, 4-5 hours in total:-) and did this amazing composition using images from our photshoot I described earlier. Think she got inspired by the beautiful roses?
The colors are real and the shapes were slightly adjusted using Photoshop; mostly using masking and combining. We got a huge image, the full size resolution is about 300 megapixels! Because each splash was shot on a full size 22 Mpx sensor and we combined many of them without downsizing, the resulting image is 20000 pixel wide and 14000 tall. Time to print it on a billboard
Update: Post-production details including original layered PSD file is posted on the Premium Content area.
All the best!
