I know that Alex uses mostly Sony now, but I have a new Canon 5d MK IV (30 megapixel) and a 100mm Macro 2,8 L Lens.

I have never heard Alex say much about the MK IV? It is a Full Frame that shoot 4K Video, but at a crop factor – would that still be suitable for the 360˚VR Jewelry Course or is the crop factor a problem?

John, you can use any camera for that course, light is more important to create such videos. A cropped sensor provides deep DOF compared to full frame, which is an advantage in this concrete case (we need deep DOF to keep a whole object in focus).
4K being used for pans/zoom-ins in post-production. MK IV will perform great.
