photoshop working with layers

    hi. am having some very basic photoshop problem. can someone tell me very clearly how do i bring in another picture in photoshop to use for a new layer when not working in camera raw?
    that means i have one picture with empty wine cup and i wanna add one with bubbles inside. how do i bring in the second picture?
    that would help me a lotttt!!!! am very confused.

      if i do want to work with camera raw. how do i open it on computer? do i need to install or download something first?

      1) (In Photoshop) go to File > “Place Embedded…” or File > “Place Linked…”

      2) About camera raw… generally if you have Photoshop, you have camera raw. If you want to process your raw image with camera raw, one way is to ‘open with’ Photoshop, another is through Adobe Bridge if you use that. If you use Adobe Lightroom it uses the same technology as Adobe camera raw. Personally, I like to process my raw images with Capture One (by Phase One).

      one more thing what happenes when the 2 pictures am combining are not same angle? how do i adjust?

      When placing you’ll see boundary boxes around the object, if you place your cursor to any corner you’ll see the rotate icon, click and drag to rotate. If after placing you want to rotate, select the layer, edit > transform, and you’ll see the same boundary boxes as mentioned. You may need to do a final crop, do do this click on the crop tool or press ‘c’.

      am trying to apply a black mask on photoshop in order to combine 2 pictures. but it comes a grey vector mask.
      how do i change? and what do we use vector mask for?
