Hi, I am just setting up new studio. I am doing the Pro Product Photography Course and also joined Pro Club. This is what I am considering to buy initially:
    1 xGodox AD600Pro
2 xGodox AD200 in kit includes trigger, stands, wide angle diffusion globes, 2x lithium batteries, 2x barn doors with gels.
This obviously gives me the one 600w flash, plus 2 x 200w. With a bracket I can put them together to make 400w. I may need another 400 or something like that later…but these flashes have good stable colour and light output, and they can do High Speed Sync. I can take them outdoors if necessary, but plan to use mainly in studio.
    My studio is quite large.
I realise nobody can tell me what to choose. all I am asking is from experienced people, do you think is enough to start off, and what might your comments or recommendations be for me …do you think I will need another light maybe a 400w or similar? Thanks in advance

Hi Liz! This looks like a really good start. I am using the exact same gear from time to time. The only downside is that the AD200 do not have modeling lights, who can be tricky sometimes.
I use them both indoors and outdoors and they are very versatile.

Thanks for that Morten, ok so this is a good option for me and I can adapt and add as I need. so without the modelling light do you just set it and see and adjust if necessary? I’m not quite sure what the modelling light does yet (haha)…but the choice would either be a 400w or another 600w instead of the 2 x 200w. But the 200’s come with a pretty good portable kit. I think I’ll get that.
      Thank you

You are welcome. The modeling light lets you see a pre-visualization of the light projection.
Well, I set up as I think it will be and adjust from there. Alex sometimes uses a small flashlight to see where the light hits sometimes. It can be quite handy.
I would def go for 2 ad200´s and one ad600. I love them. Small, easy, fast and really good capacity of battery.
