Off-Grid Solution For Photographers:

WEN 2000 gas generator review

Gas-powered generator as an off-grid solution for photographers

WHY?

We need to use strobe and continuous lighting on location, and I was looking for various battery powered light systems, from Pro Foto B monolights to Broncolor mobilite.

On other hand, recently I started to think about having a backup solutions for home and office power system. Something that can serve us for several days if there won;t be electricity and ways to go out. (you know, there are many things happening around California, from El Niño to Trump and Putin, etc 🙂

So, this is the solution that I believe will work for both, photography business and home/office energy backup system. It cost me less than $400, and below is a video from a first test I did with this gas powered generator and 2x Broncolor Grafit  A4/A2 power packs at full power, supplying 4800Ws through 2 Pulso heads.

And it worked pretty well!

Side note: we are not affiliated with WEN manufacture and not trying to promote their product. I am not even sure if this the best gas generator for rated 1600W with 4 stroke motor for less than $400…
