Hello. What should I do if someone is using my product photography? I captured some images for a client but somehow someone else is using some. I’ve asked to be paid and sent an invoice. They have not yet paid or made attempt. The images are still on their site. My client who I originally shot them for would not be happy.

Hi Gary,

This depends very much on several aspects:
1. Most important: which country or better yet under which country’s law you are making the claim.
2. What is it stated under your agreement with the customer
3. not clear who is at blame here according to your question: the customer leaked the photos, someone stole them from you or you have no idea how the person using them got them

The best course of action would be to get in touch with a lawyer. Expect to pay a consultancy fee and after that decide together with the lawyer what is the best course of action to take.

Not very sure what you want to achieve: get money for the usage, get damage money, force them to take out the photos ?

Got it. In the US. Looks like the customer leaked the photos. Alright, I’ll let it go, not worth a lawyer. I asked for compensation. If not, it is what it is.
