hi, what settings should my file be saved in to send over to client? Alex mentions in his post production tutorials to save as TIFF. what is this and can i not just save as JPEG and send over to clients?

Also wondering what size file should be for them if they are using for E-Commerce website?

    Thank you for any responses.

I will tell you how I deliver to my clients

(You want to save each picture in a big file format such as TIFF or PSD for yourself before sending to the client in case you need to do changes later on)

I Keep PSDs saved in Dropbox in case client wants to do changes

Unless the client has a own website where the pictures will be used then it’s usually best to be in square, I Send it to them as a JPEG in a 1:1 ratio, I do it as 10” by 10” 300 PPI

Save it with general compression at level 10 (assuming you use Photoshop for editing and saving pictures)

      Hope this helps

Thank you so much for your reply Joseph. Can i ask why it is best to send in square?

And if client does have their own website what size should crop be?

      Thank you!

The three most dominant websites for goods are Amazon eBay and Walmart, their picture requirements are most of the time to be in a square ratio such as 1000 x 1000 or 2000 x 2000 etc
You can google for Amazon image requirements to get a clearer picture

If a customer has a website than the ratio how the image is displayed may not be in square, Instagram for example has 3 different accepted ratios

So if im giving over to a client the final edited images for their website i give them over in JPEG and ask them what dimensions they need? is that correct? just getting clear?
