Alex, and friends. I’m shooting with a Sony A7R IV, and want to be able to shoot jewelry without focus stacking. Is there a macro tilt shift lens you recommend?

I have also considered buying a Fotodiox Tilt Rokr for e-mount, and 6×6 or 6×7 medium format lenses, and using those with a bellows to shoot macro. Or even getting a medium format macro lens and using with the Tilt Rokr.

Any feedback or ideas would be welcome.

      Hello Jassie,
Shooting macro and tilt-shift won’t help you to shoot jewelry except for something really flat like necklaces or bracelets. Just keep in mind that using tilt-shot reduces DOF dramatically.

So, for tilt-shift, any adapter will work, but I’d suggest using 35mm macro lens, as they will provide you with better DOF even in TS mode, just make sure that the field of view is large enough to use them this way. Medium format lenses, especially non-digital has way less sharpness and will not help much. Again – necklaces at extremely sharp angle is OK with TS. but not rings, etc.
