    Hi All

I want this post to be a “thread” were we can share the photographers we can learn from.

The ADVANTAGE is that all of them will be concentrated here instead of searching them through all the forums and topics on photigy.

Please:  1.Check if this photographer already in shared list

                 2. Post the reference(where to find him) and if he is dealing with table top ph. OR just inspirational.

Ansel, Cartier-Bresson, Jay Maisel, Brassai, all awesome. May sound trite but I love Ansel dearly not only for his photography but for how he lived. Very humble, very dedicated, very sweet to everyone he met — and a great piano player. He was a curious soul who was liked by all, and truly managed to master the art of getting light to film perhaps better than anyone I have encountered. He had a sixth sense. :)

P.S. one of my faves, a shot Ansel took of Georgia O’Keefe and Orville Cox.

For product stuff I am very much digging these guys right now, they do some epic work which I seek to emulate:

Here is a great inspirational photographer who mostly does beverage and liquid photography. I especially like some of his liquid shots.

Dan Winters for his lighting style. His commercial shots are awesome, as is everything else.

I really like a lot of Nick Brandt’s stuff. no fancy lighting, but I suspect a lot of retouching. http://www.nickbrandt.com/portfolio.cfm?nK=16811&nS=7#image-9

I’m a huge fan of the classic fashion/commercial and advertising photographers from the past.

Irving Penn – One of the first stars at Vogue.
    Edward Steichen
    Bert Stern
    Richard Avedon
    Ernst Hass
    Pete Turner
    Phil Marco: http://www.imaginginfo.com/online/article.jsp?id=2294

Many others as well. Too many to list them all.
