Sb-1st-place-new

First Place – photo by Roman Sapronov

Critique & Review: comments about the images from Yaroslav Dnilchenko:

“The image is lacking of a depth little bit. It would be better if left and right sides of the composition would be lower on the line. Because of the height of the bottle on the left it creates a rectangle. But, it is beautiful image!”

Sb-2nd-place

Second Place – photo by Andrey Perz

Critique & Review: comments about the images from Yaroslav Dnilchenko:

“Top light is well positioned. Reflection distracts from the objects, not sure about the greens – how does it correspond to the content of the bottles. Why did you choose these plants?

Sb-3rd-place

Third Place – photo by IULIAN Astilean

Critique & Review: comments about the images from Yaroslav Dnilchenko:

“It seems to me that the dodge and burn was used on the top flowers, and not to good. Feels like a compensation for the lost volume during the shoot. Also, the two flowers positioned on the same level is not the best chose for the composition.”

Critique & Review: comments about the images from Yaroslav Dnilchenko:

“Beautifully done but not for the challenge :)”

Critique & Review: comments about the images from Yaroslav Dnilchenko:

“The glass in this shot is not necessary. Somehow the image doesn’t convey the naturalness”

Critique & Review: comments about the images from Yaroslav Dnilchenko:

“Is that the actual color of the leaves? it seems that they were further edited. The dark surface makes is too contrasting with the bright spot of the background.
The gap between the two red objects on the right is too big. Having only 2 glass objects in the shot is not justified. The golden container sticks out too much from the rest”

Critique & Review: comments about the images from Yaroslav Dnilchenko:

“With dark background need a dark surface. All objects are positioned in a straight line, there is no composition, just a line of bottles and glass. White flowers on a dark background draw more attention than the main objects. Flowers should complement, but not to attract so much attention”

Critique & Review: comments about the images from Yaroslav Dnilchenko:

“There is a problem with a color temperature. I get strange sensations in the lack of contrast, feels like a lot of image information was pulled from shadows. Not the best chose for positioning lighting for the objects themselves. Soap is poorly lit, due to its tilt angle in the opposite direction from the light.”

Critique & Review: comments about the images from Yaroslav Dnilchenko:

“Very busy composition. Objects are too close together and overlap each other. A lot of objects positioned at the bottom of the frame and the top is empty. The dark surface makes the image heavier.”

Critique & Review: comments about the images from Yaroslav Dnilchenko:

“Heavy on the composition, the liquid level and the top of the glasses on on each side are on the same line with product label/logo.
Color temperature on the background Is uneven. Flowers are wilted- Leaf on the left is cloned from the center.
Color of the board doesn’t fit well, raw wood is not suitable in this case. Objects on the left and right are almost of the same size.
The amount of light is almost identical and it “killed” the depth and colors of the composition.
Should have a greater emphasis on the background spot”
